...and congestive heart failure? My cat woke me up last night almost grunting/gasping and sometimes gagging. This happened a couple of times thruout the night. I took him to the vet and they say he has an enlarged heart and congestive heart failure. His temp. was only 94 degrees and for a cat it is supposed to be 101 or 102. They said he was drowning in the fluid in his lungs. They told me that he was dying. He has since improved SOME. I told them to keep him in oxygen overnight. But tomorrow they want me to choose what to do about him. They are asking me if I want him to be put on the medication and see how that works or just put him to sleep. I don't know what to do. What are the chances of him living a long happy healthy life if I choose the medicine? Has this ever happened to anyone else? PLEASE HELP! Any info on any part of this question would be helpful for me. Thanks!
