up the Flem in my chest? I have been in the hospitol 2 times within the past week. First they let me go home saying its just a common cold, overnight I took a worse turn so the next day I went to another hospitol and I was diagnosed with Bronchitis and prescribed Amoxicillin. But the pain in my chest is unbearable and i haven't been able to eat or sleep for about a week. Once I start coughing I can't stop and I want to cough up a flem thats as thick as gum and its now at the point that there is blood mixed in with the flem. So I don't know if I should tough it out and let it take its course or go back to the hospitol. Or if there might be something that I can take OTC to break up the flem and reduce the pain in my throat and chest. And I can't call my OB because thats just a whole other story where I have an appt coming up at a new office. So I really have nobody to ask.

Try plain Robitussin (not DM, PE or CF). Make sure it is the plain formula. It thins secretions. Also, try inhaling some steam. Might help, too. Good luck!

Drink plenty of fluids, use saline nasal spray, rest, Tylenol for pain, Vicks rub, a hot steamy shower and take your prescribed antibiotics. I had bronchitis also when I was pregnant and it is no fun. I am not sure if you can take Mucinex while pregnant maybe call the pharmacy(?). Good luck and feel better.
