Nobody likes a quitter. Seriously, why not try moderation? No more than 3 drinks per day. It works for me.

If you seriously think you have a problem with alcohol, go to an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting.

You HAVE to start with going to an AA meeting. Nothing else works, as you can probably tell-- cutting down, changing the wine/beer, etc. You'll find a lot of support AND resources once you're at that first meeting.

Join AA first of all. At the meetings they will tell you certain foods you can't eat and such. Talk to your friends and family about your problem, their support is key to your recovery. You will never be fully cured, you will always be a recovering alcoholic.
