What can I do? The vet was not to helpful he gave us 2 sorts of pills, and drops that looked like water and had no particular smell. Its been about two weeks and he seems to be getting a little better but the cough is still very bad. I have tried putting him in the bathroom while i shower and bought a humidifier. Its sounds like he's trying to spit out the Flem but he cant. I will be taking him to the vet on Saturday. He is eating and and still playing.Any suggestions ?

Try a bulldog vet. Sounds like the dog may have an elongated palate and that is only corrected by surgery with aQUALIFIED BULLDOG VET. Some vets don't know what they are doing when it comes to bullies and can cause more damage than good. A dog with a cough for two weeks needs to be seen by a vet.Do not give over the counter human medicines to a bully...EVER!

I'm very sorry for the condition of your dog. You have to know that bronchitis is not that easy to cure and it will surely has to take some time. So, please, take care of your dog and follow your vet's instructions. You yourself said that the dog is getting better though the cough is still there. It doesn't matterthat the drops have no particular smell at all. Don't get yourself wrong in this because of the smell. If it had a smell your dog may not take it. You should kmow how strong is the smell of dogs. So it would better have no smell at all. The virus that causes the cough takes a long time to heal and many times it seems to have been dealt with and after some time it comes back. Even in human it is like that and this is because of the virus that is it is dormant for some time and than it starts again. So, don't lose heart that nothing is being done. Have patience and at the same time keep your dog protected and warm. Humidity causes the coughs to be greater because of the cold air. Coldness is he worst enemyfor bronchitis and that's why I told you to keep your dog warm.Surely your dog won't be able to get rid of the flem, no surprise, and so he has to get rid of them through his digestive systems and pass them away.. And this takes more time than getting rid of it by the coughs. So, follow your vet's instructions and be patient. The fact he is still playing is good for it means that he hasn't any fever and so no infections caused by the virus. You will soon , but wait also, see your dog to himself again
