What is your opinion of acupuncture, tai chi, qi gong, herbs, etc? I am just curious.

It really depends. Yes on some cures. In this day and age however, people pay thousands of dollars for miracle herb cures from the pacific which only make you sicker, and ignore the fact that their not approved by the FDA. Yes I think tai chi is a bit like Yoga and heals like so, acupuncture I'm not really sure about, not sure wat qi gong is, and herbs, yes and no.

i believe herbs are very good for you, they are not regulated and no doctor will reccommend them but i think they are a good alternative to self healing, i am against using any drugs at all costs i believe if you give the body something natural it will heal itself..

I believe enough that I will be returning to school next year for my RN, and education in Oriental medicine.I use acupuncture & Chinese herbs, along wth diet modification and exercise to control diabetes.Chinese & Western medicine are meant to work hand in hand, and acomplish greater things than either alone.

Chinese medicine got its start as a popular medicine after the 1953 Revolution. There weren’t enough medical doctors for the people and they were all taken to the larger cities to treat the wealthy and the politicians. The rest of the population could not be left with zero medical care so the Chinese government promoted ancient herbal techniques as a stopgap fully knowing about their ineffectiveness in treating diseases. In China if you have money you go to a Western trained doctor, if you don’t have money you go to an herbalist or acupuncturist and take your chances. The fact that half a billion people use it because they have no choice is not a ringing endorsement for ancient Chinese medicine.People in the West to use Chinese medicine and other alternative medicines because of a mistrust of pharmaceuticals and the fact that doctors cannot guarantee a cure for every ailment. Many of the ailments that people have that they attribute to being cured by the ancient Chinese medicines would have probably been cured by taking nothing. Acupuncture is especially dangerous because not only are you not curing your ailment you are increasing your risk for infection from the needles that may not have been cleaned prior to your use.
