why is alcoholism considered a disease? I mean, when you quit drinking then you no longer have a disease. Nobody forces you to drink. and the same with obeisity, i can understand that sometimes it caused by other problems but for the most part nobody forces people to eat as much as they do. Neither is contagious so how is considered a disease if you do it to yourself?

Neither really is a disease. They have only been deemed diseases so that they can sell drugs or plans for them. They both are really just lack of self control, and self respect. I can say this, I'm an alcoholic, a little thick too, but I'm not looking to get on disability for either one! Those that do are just lazy!
