I love running, but I tend to gain weight when I start upping my mileage. I get smaller, so appearance isn't the problem. My goal right now is to drop significant weight so that I can continue to run on a semi-injured knee.

Any tips on other activities I can do that will help cut weight? I already cycle a lot, and cutting calories is my last resort.

You're gaining weight because muscle is heavier than fat (though you probably already knew that). Talk to your doctor about heart rate and burning fat. When your heart rate gets to a particular point (sorry, I don't remember what it is) your body starts building muscle instead of burning fat.

Actually running too much makes your heart exhausted.I do not recommend running with a semi injured knee. You can try swimming or weightlifting both works so good for giving unwanted weights.
