readings? im about 32 weeks.. the baby is weighing a little over 4 pounds. i just switched dr's to where i live my other dr was 2 hours away.. everything was normal at my old dr's and now all of a sudden i have protein in urine and have had higher blood pressure readings.. this is my second pregnancy and had no problems with my first.. i had to do a 24 hour urine collection and had resuts of 400 mg or however they measure it.. so they put me in the hospital with blood pressure readings of around 140/90 in that range.. so i stayed in the hospital and my blood pressure readings were completely different they were anywhere from 105/58 to 134/84 and my 24 hour protein had dropped to 250 so my ? is has this happened to anyone else?? what did they do?? they gave me 2 steroid shots for the baby.. should i get a second opnion they are talking about going ahead and taking the baby and then they released me from the hospital yesturday and told me i could go back to normal activities.. help??

Obviously they're monitoring you for pre-eclampsia. I would also assume they are going to make you visit the office frequently to continue to monitor your blood pressure? I hope so. There's a lot they can do before they would be forced to take the baby. You might have to stay in the hospital for magnesium infusions to lower your BP, but I would think the focus would be on keeping you pregnant as long as possible right now. If you're worried your doctor isn't doing a good enough job and isn't communicating with you well enough, go back to your other one. It's worth it.
