CanI join the army if i have asthma?

I am an 18 year old female. I really want to join the Army Nurses Corp. The only problem is, I have asthma...is there any way I can get around this and be able to join? I have had asthma since I was 2 and I have it still but it's not as bad. I run all of the time and I am very healthy. Please help me get in!

Yes as long as it isn't really bad. I had asthma since I was small too, but it is much better and I don't really use any inhalers anymore, even when I do heavy sport. Matter of fact, I might not have it anymore I don't know lol.

You'll have to do a physical before you join. The doctors at the physical are very lenient. They'll grant you a waiver if you have mild asthma. However, I will have to advise you to really think about joining the military. Once when you're in, that's it. You can't really change your mind and get out. You're better off in college for the time being. But, it's your choice.

About 3 years ago i applyied to join the navy, i told them i had asthma, they didnt mind, i suppose through thier eyes it just depends on what you want to do, and i cant see this affecting you in any way shape or form, good luck.

Instead of the military, try doing contract work through the military. Go to URSCorp and look for job openings.

Yes you can. But i think you would be posted to a lower class. For example, you will not be able to be with the physical training troops but rather in logistics, clerical works etc. ALL THE BEST! =)
