I've never know anybody to get it from smoking pot, and I know a guy whos been smoking pot for probably around 40 years. In fact I've read about marijuana actually helping to stop or slow lung cancer.Cigarettes on the other hand, I know a lot of people who've died from them. Most of them were about 50 - 60 and had smoked since their early teens. The thing is, you could smoke from the time you were twelve till when you're twenty five or so, quit, and still get lung cancer down the road. It's bad for your lungs. Don't start smoking cigarettes (weed on the other hand...ahem....alright, I'm not going to condone drug use)

I have also read that article that came out within the last year about the THC in marijuana that protects the lungs from getting cancerous from smoking it. I doubt that it would be enough to negate effects from cigarettes, though, if someone smoked both of them. Too bad.
