The news last night was about the HPV vaccine. They said there is not "conclusive" evidence that it is THE cause. HPV is frequently in occurance with cervical cancer, so a likely suspect - just one of many possible causes. Just as a mole on your body can turn into skin cancer, I would assume a genital wart can also cause abnormal cells to develop. I'm pretty sure my elderly grandmother did not have HPV, but she died of cervical cancer.
