View Full Version : my cat won't stop meowing?
he sounds frantic if i walk by him, he meows all the time unless he's sleeping or i pick him up, he is five years old i adopted him two months ago, he only started doing it after two weeks, he seemed right at home at first, sitting on our laps and never hiding. he's driving me and my boyfriend nuts.we just found out that i'm pregnant, could this be why?

its hard to say. i have a very vocal cat, sometimes she just walks around meowing, sometimes even gets shrill. talkin back to him, saying his name might help, even if it sounds weird. good luck

i have a male adopted cat that is neutred i have owned him for going on four years now and he constantly does this and he other cats here to play with... he liked the out doors and i have an outdoor cat run now...not everyone can implement this so i suggest letting him out in a fenced yard or train him on a leash so he can get some out door activity... he seems to stop meowing so much when i let himout however it is also the cry of the alpha male letting everyone one know he is IN CHARGE and is the dominant species

Take him to the vet there might be something wrong with him physically,or he might be afraid he will lose your affection with a new baby.

its either just in her genes and thats what she naturally dose or shes in heat so you need to ask the vet about geting her spayed or neutered

I think the cat might be approaching puberty. You will need to have him spayed or neutered. I had a cat named Priscilla once. When she approached her puberty, she began walking around with her butt up in the air. She even meowed in a certain tone that was stange. It looked funny, but I knew that this was not normal, so my mom took her to the vet to get her taken care of.

Is he neutered? If so, something could be causing the cat physical pain. Many times, cats will yowl when they are in pain.Could it be because you're pregnant? Well, it could be if due to this news the cat isn't getting the attention it's come to know and is feeling neglected. However, it's important to know, some male cats get urinary tract infections, which when not treated, causes them to not be able to urinate. It's very painful and if not treated in time will kill the cat due to uremic poisoning.I grew up with cats and have had them all my life (I am 41), and if my cat was yowling constantly, my first impulse would be to get him to the vet.Call the vet immediately and tell them what's been going on. If they feel they need to see the cat, take him in right away.

its probably in season especially if its a male cat you shold have it spade. if you adopted it through a cattery or vet then it should be already but you never knowyour cat could also be trying to let you know whos boss the best cure for this would be to ignore it not exactly that easy with that racket going onif youve been making a lot of fuss of it pampering a lot then it could be trying to get your attention so you give it even more pampering either as above or give it some pampering,, you know how cats just love itcats are the same as dogs in some respects, theyre sensitive to certain human conditions, cats and dogs are known to know when their owners are on their way home, about to have an epileptic fit, ill and also if their pregnant

Stroke your cat gently and let your cat go outside in the daytime.Me and my Mum's cat drives us nuts too and we try to stop her meowing so we give her strokes, give food and water and let her go outside in day light.
