People can live most of their lives without even knowing that they have Hep C until they take a blood test. You can have severe symptoms and have very little liver damage then there is the other end where you have very few (if any) symptoms and your liver is quite damaged. There is a treatment for Hep C and for some people its quite effective, it depends on your genotype how long the treatment is and is a very tough treatment. It has many side effects and shouldn't be taken on without really looking into it. A support group is great, I ran one for 4 years after I was diagnosed, and you can talk to people who are going through the same thing. There are many resources on the Internet, just type in Hep C in the search menu. I hope this helps a little bit.
