18 weeks and strange pain in lower abdomen?

I've started noticing off and on now a weird sharp pain really low... almost feels like it is in my pubic area. It comes and goes. It's kind of like needles down there. Would this be just another form of stretching pains? It is a new feeling for me, so I am just curious.

Yep.....it's the ligaments holding the area together stretching. Most likely, that is.

It could be round ligament pain, but call your ob just in case. You can never be to careful. I called for all sorts of questions and pains. Its what they are there for. Make sure there is no spotting or fluid leaking out, if so go to the hospital pronto!

They could be premature contractions. I would see my doctor as soon as possible so that you can be treated if it is.

Sounds like what I get. Im 18 weeks also and I feel shooting pains what feel like they are at the front of my vagina, or the pubic bone.Ive been told it is normal

sounds like round ligament pain still. I had the same thing through out my preg. They said it was just the body making room for your growing little miracle. hope this helps

I have had that same issue since I was about 20 weeks .It feels as if the shooting pain goes all the way almost to the bottom of the birth canal. I talked to my dotor about it, and he says that sometimes the baby can kick low, and hit the bladder which causes those sharp pains, also possibly urinating on one's self later on in pregnancy ! Eww ! haha. And the stretching pains are the round ligaments growing to accomidate the uterus.
