...and a half...? I have been to the doctor twice and both times they have told me that antibiotics do nothing for bronchitis and therefore send me on my way with nothing but some cough syrup and an inhaler. While I do understand this, how am I supposed to get on with my life while I'm this ill? I have been taking a daily vitamin, vitamin C, Echinecea, Goldenseal, Airbourne and Mucinex (to help ease the congestion) but so far, nothing is boosting my immune system and I'm not getting any better. I've even cut out sugars from my diet to stop bacteria growth, I've been drinking a ton of water to keep my body hydrated and I'm getting plenty of rest. Being ill so long is actually beginning to take a toll on my mental health as well. What else can I do make myself better? Any suggestions are appreciated. The thing is that I've had this happen to me before and I've switched doctors 3 times because of it and they all do the same thing. It's to the point that I don't see the point in even going to a doctor at all anymore. The only time I got any help was two years ago when this happened, I ended up in the ER because it got so bad that I got chest pains so bad that I began to hyperventilate. I'm not sure what to do.

The same thing happens to me every single fall. I usually take two rounds of anitbiotics and a cough syrup and then an allergy med and over the counter cough med for a bit afterwards. On a daily basis I take a mulitvitamin as well as 1000 mg Vitamin C and it doesn't help. It usually takes me about two months to get rid of it so I understand your frustration. During the day I suck on cough drops when I get a coughing attack to keep me quiet. You probably just have to ride it out at this point.
