...bronchitis symptoms yesterday...? I am 33 weeks pregnant and started having bronchitis symptoms yesterday...?I went to the doctor and he put me on amoxicillin, which I know is safe for use during pregnancy, but is my baby protected? I hate it that I got sick but of course it wasn't on purpose. I am just worried that coughing a lot will hurt her. I am not a smoker, nor am I exposed to second hand smoke in my home, and I think it may just be from the pollen and ragweed that got it started. Has anyone else had bronchitis while pregnant?

i had bronchitis when i was about 38 weeks with my first daugher, carried her until 42 weeks. the doctor actually put my on a z-pack. you take it for like four or five days. it had no effect on her at all. i also just had twins and the doctor put me on augmentin before i had them b/c i was going to be having a c-section, it was just to prevent infection. no worries! just take care of yourself hun. drink lots of fluids. and hey, curl up on the couch, watch tom and jerry, and eat some chicken and stars and you will feel much better, i promise!!

I have had bronchitis since day1. Oh it does suck!!! Do not worry if it doesn't quite go away until after she is born. It may actually help her in the short term since she is now getting your antibodies to this sickness. Coughing will not usually cause labor, but be sure to take in lots of fluids and get plenty of rest. Dehydration can spur preterm labor, and getting yourself run down now will hinder the rest of your pregnancy.Good luck, you are in the home stretch!
