We have a one year- old Pitbull and eventho hes friendly people are afriad of him, and all. Our dog chewed his tieup thingy so that it wont work and our fence is not the best theres no gate and when we let our dog out he runs away and it can takeallong time for him to come back, what should we do??
Get a leash and take him to obedient school

Get a shock collar.Shocks the dog when they try to pass some where there not suppose to be going for instance in the porch area.

I don't agree with tie outs, but if he chewed through the cable, then you'll need a chain. Please use that as temporary while you install a sufficiently tall enough gate to prevent your dog from 1. climbing over, and 2 jumping over. our gate on both sides of our house is 6 feet tall with no footing for our dogs watsoever. In the meantime, when you let him out then as a responsible owner since you know he can get out, you need to keep him on a leash and supervise him. Keep him as an in door dog and get in plenty of exercise. Even tho he is friendly, you never know what might happen and when the time comes, you'll be in deep crap. All my dogs are friendly, but i still take precautions with them.

1) Make sure he's fixed.2) Make sure he has tags with a city license and a microchip.3) Take a basic obedience class and work on his recall in a safe area.4) Buy a new tie-out. Or buy or build a dog run that is high enough that he can't jump over. Or fix your fence. Or walk him on a leash (the best idea!) 5) Find him a new home if you don't have the time to look after him properly. You are contributing to the bad pitbull reputation by letting him run loose through the neighbourhood! This isn't acceptable for any breed.
