Brought home new puppy 2 wks ago and my cats randomly sneeze now.. why? My husband and I brought home a pug 2 wks ago, and he's mainly kept in our kitchen via a child gate. I have two cats that live only indoors, and both are randomly walking around the house and sneezing since he's been around. They don't look sick otherwise (noses and eyes are not runny and they're acting fine). The puppy was to the vet a week and a half ago and was given a clean bill of health as well. It's weird! Could they be reacting to the new puppy smells (they've never been around one before)? We're also mopping the floor daily now with the puppy (used to do it once weekly), so maybe that could be it...?

Can the cats get into the dog's food? Neither dog nor cat should eat corn, wheat or soy but it is in many dog and cat foods. More so in dog's this can cause sneesing and scratching. Try gradually switch the puppies food to a high quality food (wellness, solid gold, merrick etc) and see if it helps. This will also be food for the puppy!
