...self-confidence. Can this relationship survive? Please help me... My boyfriend of 8 months is a genius ivy league grad who thinks he is the smartest in the world. At first I decided to accept this arrogance as his weakness since good sides of him surpass it. However, lately he made a comment such as "Do you know what my father's job is", and the reason he asked me was that he wanted to make sure I was not stupid enough to understand what his father does. He had explained his father's job earlier but he thought i was stupid to understand so he wanted to make sure. He also asked me "What courses did you study in college and do you remember any of them? Many things are so new to you". He meant that I didn't know shit and I am too stupid to remember anything. I was so traumatized from this incident and I do not know what to do. I could tell him all my feelings and he will apologize, but this is something (his arrogance) so core of who he is, and I cannot change this. What can I do?

if you even have to ask this question- it's inevitable that you are not happy and that you do not wished to be treated with such disrespect.i suggest that you remove this man from your life and move on.

Break up with him! You claim that his "good sides surpass" his arrogance, but since he just destroyed your self confidence, I would say they don't! You can do so much better than him.

sounds like both of you are very young and have a lot to learn. so dont play to much in to this remember young lady you are the woman and you really have all the power if you use it right. that means with honesty and loyality to yourself FIRST. the right person WILL find you. this will be the one with no questions ask and no doubt. please be patient DO NOT SETTLE for nothing less. take it from someone who has hearned the hard way if your not with the right one it WILL make you old way before your time..
