i have been getting spasms located in the rib...

Sounds like intercostal muscle spasms. This can be the result of exercise, asthma, or electrolyte imbalance. You don't say how old you are. If you are male, smoke, and over 30, you should see a doc and make sure there is nothing more serious going on (like heart diseease)
