To sum it up, I question life and what my goals are in it, sometimes I'll just think I'm a waste and my life will be over with nothing achieved, fear death and getting hurt, and just worry about everything, my folks and my family. If it helps I'm a teenager. Every night I just can't not think about death, everything is gone my loved ones and my hobbies that I like to do, how I can't live life if my folks are gone. I don't do much, nothing really appeals to me, I'm not very interested in anything and just feel sad all the time. I never think about killing myself or things of that nature. What do you think it could be? Sometimes I have great times and think life is awesome, the theres other times were I just thinking about wasting my life. Please help me, its ruining my life

You sound exactly like me... I'm having this problem too. Life seems pointless, monotonous, and not worth living... I know when I had the same problem years ago, it got more and more severe, and went to the point where I developed anxiety disorder and had panic attacks. I don't know if you're going to dwell on it like I did, but the only escape for me was medication. Do all you can to fix it without going to a psychiatrist, though D: it's good you're looking for help beforehand.

I think everyone goes through these feelings, some multiple times in a lifetime. Have you ever considered volunteering at a non profit agency? If you like dogs, contact your local SPCA and ask about becoming a dog walker for them or play with and socialize pups or kittens. You need to find something in life that makes you feel like your making a contribution. If you like Sr. citizens volunteer to visit them, if you drive you could contact a group like meals on wheels that deliver one meal a day to shut-ins. Generally you choose your own route and days. If you like to do physical work call habitat for humanity and ask how they can use your help building homes for low income people. If you like kids contact your local boys club chapter and see if you can help. Sometimes when we help others we help ourselves. It's nice to feel you helped someone who is truly grateful. It takes our focus off of us, gives us a goal and a distraction from our own problems and at the end of the day you HAVE a purpose. These are just a few ideas, find something that suits you.
