most sugarfree stuff will have a laxative effect if you consume too much of it. it also depends on which country you are in, cos the main sugarfree ingredient in drinks, lollies etc differs from country to country.eg. from what i've heard aspartame isn't used in some parts of the US, but used over here in australia.
