He was obsessive compulsive. From Wikipedia: "Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a psychiatric disorder most commonly characterized by a subject's obsessive, distressing, intrusive thoughts and related compulsions (tasks or "rituals") which attempt to neutralize the obsessions. Thus it is an anxiety disorder. "Read more about it here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Obsessive_compulsive

I beleive he was obsessive compulsive and had amy phobias as well they have meds that can control those disorders these days people dont have to suffer like they did then. Sad, all his money and he couldn't even be happy.

He was suffering from Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). A disabling anxiety disorder that made him a prisoner in his own house. OCD can be treated with medication and cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT). Modern medicine has found that people with OCD have a chemical imbalance in the brain. The medication can help stabilise that.

he suffered from paranoia and a negative self image....it ran through his mother..his mother being obsessive compulsive (cleanliness) which drove him to .....I had some of this when I was younger...I would smell things really easily and say to people they smelt bad and would refuse to sit near them until they changed..in fact we all do but he had it in the extreme with everything that made him isolated...my mother has this precoccupation with sugar in that nobody can eat sugar or something sweet and touch any furniture without washing their hands..and when I ask her why she just says her mother says it will attract flies...she will squirm and wince to get away from sugar...the negative self image...coming from a successful and disciplined family drove him to succeed ...he would succeed whether he liked it or not...
