...thirteen year old boy? My son has just got an asthma attack which means that the asthma that the docter believed was gone forever has come back. Should i be worried?
No, just make sure you keep an eye on his asthma at all times and if it gets bad again run, do not walk, to the doctor. Asthma can be very serious if not taken care of.

Chances are your doctor thought your son had juvenille asthma, which is very common. Your lungs continue to produce new tissue from birth to about age 6 or 7. That's how kids will sometimes "grow out of asthma". If he had an attack at age 13, it could be 2 things. 1) He has been recently introduced to a trigger that he didn't have before that time and is sensetive to that specific trigger, or 2) He is beginning to develop chronic asthma. Definitely go to the doctor. You should probably insist on having him/her prescribe a Proventil inhaler, at least for starters, until they decide on a further course of action.

Yes I would be worried. I would probably take him to a different doctor. Asthma can be easily treated with the right medication.

How much of a threat? Fatal. Asthma has to be managed daily, not just when it happens or after it happens. Yes, you should be so worried that you should contact your local Lung Association or Asthma Society and update YOUR education. & knowledge about asthma.
