problems like anxiety and others are just fine? I don't want to be a panicky patty anymore. I want to be able to travel and not worry about everything that can go wrong. Why is it that, for example, my brother can just up and go somewhere with no hesitations but I feel that my whole life will be disrupted if I make any changes. It really makes me mad and I want to be more like everyone else who can just be carefree and socialable... AH!

No one truly knows the cause of anxiety in some more than others. All people suffer from anxiety at one point in their lives, but a few have it as a constant disorder like you and I. I panic too and like you I sometimes get angry that I have to go through this while everyone else is fine.Your past experiences could cause more anxiety. Stress also plays a big role and the most important is chemistry in your brain that obviously nothing you do can help. Some people are just fine and cope well with things instead of worrying constantly and panicking.

I live what you are feeling. The brain is complex. There lies the secret to all mental disorders.

In the case of anxiety I think those negative feelings of panic, worry & stress are triggered from past experiences gone wrong which leads you to develop a fear in your mind of that particular thing. It's also common to develop a fear or anxiety towards something that you havn't personally experienced. You could hear lots of stories about things going wrong in a certain situation which makes you want to avoid it. I understand how it feels when your anxiety causes you to hesistate so much from something you think you can enjoy if only your anxiety didn't hold you back but it's just something you need to work at. If your anxious about travelling, try doing so with people who you trust & can offer you reassurance. Don't think about all the things that *could* go wrong because chances are not one of them is even likely to happen. I hope you overcome it.

Its so reassuring to know that there are alot of people out there that share the same disorder I do.......its so hard to overcome. We should start an online group. I get very upset at myself when I have a panick attack. Its frusterating to not be able to enjoy life.Good Luck
