Allergies from knitting with wool?

So i was knitting today and i notived my right hand was swelled up nad thats the hand i hold the yarn in, could i be allergic to it?

Yes, it is possible to be allergic to wool. I found out about my wool allergy after having a patch test done by a dermatologist. Maybe try knitting with a different fabric and see if it still happens.
