you should never do anything you're not comfortable doing... if he truly cares about you and respects you he will wait... there are many reasons why people choose to move slow, and the why is more or less irrelevant since you have do what feels right for you, regardless of a reason. if he is putting pressure on you or making you feel bad, take a break. you should never have to compromise yourself !
