no, bedwetting does not cause kids to "get" asthma. but if they already have asthma, and it is triggered by fear or cold or anxiety, then waking up in a wet bed might trigger an attack.

As a matter of fact, there seems to be a relatinship between nocturnal enuresis (bed wetting) and children who have allergies (which may or may not be a sign of future asthma). The main allergen was found to be pollen, which is the one that causes watery eyes, sneezing and breathing problems. As a precautive measure, you should monitoryour child's IgE levels and find out if he hasn't a rhinnitis problem that might get worse with time. The research on this topic is limited to a few studies, but you would do good in finding out if the child is allergic or not.

Are you serious? Who told you that? SLAP THEM FOR BEING IGNORANT! Asthma is usually an allergic condition.

it seems more likely that alergic reactions or breathing issues would cause bed wetting, i suppose breathing urine fumes for extended periods would not be great for you, but I wouldn't expect it to cause asthma.a 3rd factor could also be involved, some bed wetting has been attributed to pinched spinal nerves or poor spinal neuronal development
