Cervical cancer?

i'm 21 wks pregnant and my doctor told me at my last prenatal appnt that they found abnormal cells in the last papsmear they did earlier in the pregnancy. He said that the worst that they can be is the first signs of cervical cancer. How do you even gget cervical cancer? Is it deadly? I'm only 21 yrs old and this is my 2nd child. Anyone know anything about it?

like everyone said a lot of people have abnormal cells. they kept telling me that my cervix does not look right and when the test comes back it is always fine...my mom had cervical cancer 17 years ago and they had to take out her uterus. she is still alive and cance free after all those years. she kept her ovaries so she would not go into menaupause too fast (that did not really work). she is now 51 and is enjoying her 2, soon to be 3, grandchildren.
