I quite like this site, and I like the simple layout, and the fact there isn't a massive slew of discussion sections, making it daunting to start participating, however I would like to pass on a respectful concern, which is that whilst I appreciate the site needs to have sponsors and advertising, to help with running costs, I feel that perhaps the placement of Ads is not as beneficial to the site as it could be.

I would humbly suggest, it might be more prudent to have the Google text advertisements and banners, at the top and bottom of forum sections, and discussions, not sandwiched in there instead.

It does look a little disconcerting to see forum sections, and people having discussions on things, that are perforated with little Google Ad boxes between some posts / replies, and this may be a possible catalyst for reduced growth potential of the site.

Again, I'm not trying to sound controversial or dispresect the hard work, Admin and moderators do, or disrespect the site as a whole, but I do understand the need for Ads, and feel the type of Ads used are a good type, just that where they have been placed slightly undermines the boards appearance, and possibly user numbers, (though that second point is something I can't prove obviously).

To anyone who read this, thanks for doing so, and hopefully I'm not causing a stir first time round. I will understand if placing Ads top and bottom instead, cannot be feasilble, but I do think it would be beneficial for all concerned, and might potentially attract more traffic.

Thanks again.

Another thought.

How does this forum prevent spam?

This is a really good site, but currently there is a bit getting in, and unless the site acts fast, they will take over and kill it off. I've seen it before.

I notice the bulk of what's been talked about happened 7-9 months ago. Possibly the addition of Ads put some people off, but now they've been removed, cutting spam would be a good measure I feel.

I'm aware of how these people operate, have traced them many a time, and know how to bulk ban them.

Feel free to PM me, or discuss things here if you need to brainstorm about anything to do with this site, as I'd be happy to offer ideas about freshening things up, or blocking spammers, or trying to upturn membership numbers.

Thanks for reading this. It's a good site, it would be shame to see it hit the wall.
