It does. When you pop them, you are moving the bones and cartilage against each other and after a period of time, the cartilage wears away from the friction you are causing when popping them. This is arthritis. It is ok if you do not do on a regular basis, but if it is done a lot, it wears the cartilage away faster.

that I'm not sure. but it is very rude and i made my kids stop doing it. not that you care or needed to know that. but if you do pop them and maybe looking for a reason to quite the rude factor is a good reason.

ive always been told not to do it as it can cause arthritis and as im getting older (im in my thirtys and been cracking my knuckles for about 20/25 yrs)my fingers are getting worse espically in the winter, but if i dont crack them they really hurt ,so your dammed if you do and your dammed if you dont!!!

nope, I have learned in all my Biology classes it can't. It's just annoying, but I guess it is just fluid being released, which causes the popping noise.
