Hi All,I am 29 Male,married,65 Kgs,Height 5 feet 7 inchesDuring a routine examination (urine analysis) it was found that I have RBCs in my urine.Iwent to Urologist who suggested me antibiotic with the "Urine for bacterial count + C/S" and "ASO TITRE" tests, both were normal. After completing the antibiotic course I visited again, and he asked for repeat of Urinalysis, but I still had Blood in my Urine,he then referred me to a Naphrologist, saying I dont have Urological problem rather I should see a naphrologist. The naphrologist suggested "IgA","24 hours Urine for total protein,Creatinine","ANA,AMA,ASMA" and "Urine for cytological examination to rule out malignant cells" tests. All the reports were normal again. The naphrologist then asked me TO WAIT AND SEE.And suggested the "24 hours Urine for total protein,Creatinine",and "Urine C/S" and blood pressure check after one year.On first visit to Naphrologist my BP was 130/70 and on second visit it was 160/90.I told naphrologist that sometimes I experience a condition of High pulse rate and felling of my heart stroking fast(specially when going to an unfamiliar environment OR metting unfamiliar person) and this condition lasts for say half and hour or more, then he suggested for "T3,T4,TSH" tests (result awaited),and said if the results are out of normal range then I should visit him.I want to know that "Is my doctor to the right track towards this symtom OR there is anything else which should be done?"Please reply.

blood in the urine means there is something wrong in your urinary system (involving your kidneys down to the urethra-- from which your urine passes out). there are many conditions that can cause this, and what ur doctor advised you to be tested are all important to know that cause. the urine for bacterial count + c/s will determine whether you have urinary tracty infection, which is the most common cause of blood in the urine. that is what the antibiotics are for. the aso titer is to know whether you have this condition called post-streptococcal glomerulonephritis. kaya lang, you ahould have presented with sore throat, colds/cough, and/or fever beforehand. anyways, the nephrologist is a specialist for the kidneys. what he/she wanted to know with all those tests was whether you have SLE (or any connective tissue diseases or autoimmune diseases), malignancies (in plain speak, cancer somewhere in your urinary tract). when all the results turned out normal, he advised you to wait and see, or observe it because sometimes blood in the urine doesn't mean there is something really bad going on in your body. sometimes, it just happens and resolves on its own. i suggest you have KUB xray or ultrasound done just to make sure you dont have any kidney stones that might be causing you this.the elevated blood pressure is another thing. this might be related to your "bloody urine" or another problem. you might just be anxious about your visit to the doctor, or hyperthyroidism, which your doctor wanted to test with the T3, T4 and TSH test.
