Me personally I prefer a good weight lifting workout then I like to use ellipticals for cardio they are much easier on your joints than running.

One of the best things to do is walk. Walking is easy. You can walk in the woods, the park, down town wherever. If its raining go walk in a big shopping mall. People think oh I have to go to the gym, I have to jog, I have to do this or that and it can be overwhelming. Start by walking.

It is said that you have to be fit from a normal teen age if you want a good healthy future.
Here are the things that i suggest to have good fit health.

- Jog regularly
- Do exercise couple hours a day
- If you heard about the tricks of Yoga, it is greatly adviced to do that regularly.
- Cycling and other outdoor sports.
- Swimming is advised but you should also keep in mind not to take it as complete fun.

I'm not an exercise freak, although I do have quite an active life compared to some. I walk everywhere - miles each day - and at the weekends I like to go hillwalking too.

I was reading some research (http://ukhealthnews.blogspot.com/2008/04/housework-makes-you-happy.html) the other day that said even moderate exercise in middle age could stave off the effects of ageing.

Nice research link there. A few points in it that i liked were
Regular household activities, gardening also relieves distress.
Mental health improves with atleast 20 minutes of daily activeness.
Improved ageing i.e. increase of age upto 10-15 years more than normal due to regular aerobics.

Playing sports is definitely one of the best ways to get excercise. Many people find that simply going to the gym or running to be boring... so sport provides good excercise while hopefully also enjoying it. Swimming and Cycling are good things to take up also.

Even things such as walking up and down stairs an extra few times a day can be beneficial.

If you are asking between jogging or swimming then you should opt for swimming.
Swimming actually uses every muscles of our body and in the process helps you develop an amazing amount of stamina.
