I was recently diagnosed with seasonal asthma, because I frequently have trouble breathing right. Its usually bad at night, or early in the morning. I found out that I have it by going to the emergency room because I couldnt breath and they prescribed me albuteral (inhaler) but I need it twice a day or more, and thats too much. I've also been on allegra for about a week, but I dont even feel like its working! So I'm wondering, should I be taking singulair or possibly clariton? I need it to help control my breathing, not so much sneezing, runny nose ect. I'm going to go see my doc, but I wanted advice from users of these meds. Thanks so much!

Hey there! I don't have seasonal asthma but I do have asthma and allergies together. Singulair is a great medication (for me) because it helps control both. I'm also on Advair which has significantly increased my lung function over the past year. See if your doctor can let you try it! :) Good luck.

some hayfever medication can help with taking asthma medication but check with a pharmacist or doctor before you take anything, tell them what you currently take include any pain killers, as certain medications do not mix and asthmatics cannot take ibuproven(nurofen, act 3 etc)
