○ 66 years old ○ Shortness of breath (when do house work)○ Bilateral led edema (can even walk)○ Difficulty sleeping secondary○ Dry cough○ Further exacerbation(worse) for the shortness of breath(when lying on flat)○ denies any chest pain, wheezing, or febrile illness○ Past illness n no medication○ Never smoked n not drink socially.○ Pronounced jugular veins○ Pansystolic murmur (cardiac exam)○ Lung bases produces dullness bilaterally○ 2+ pitting edema of both ankles○ Normal sinus rhythm (EKG)○ Mild cardiomegaly with bilateral pleural effusions(X-raY)BP187/90 mm HgPulse97 beats/minRespiratory rate16 breaths/minTemp98 F (36.67 C)O2 Saturation93%

It does sound like CHF, but the signs makes it a tad difficult for me to determine which side, although I am leaning heavily toward right side CHF.reason why is the edema and JVD.Although you should know I am an EMT, not a nurse or doctor. We are not SUPPOSED to diagnose.

yes it does look like it.the high blood pressure is a definite thing to treat and the patient i trust will improve. diuretics are a must.I hope your not a doctor trying to treat a patient.good luck
