in the chest? I have never taken the advair but I have it, I take qvar daily.I had read the disclosure for advair and it sounded so extreme! I was scared to take it.Usually I take albuterol when I am sick which I have a cold right now, before i went to an allergist who gave me the advair,Is advair treatment or preventative or both? Which one should i take? This is all so confusing, I need to go see the allergist again,ok thanks

Take the albuterol first wait about five minutes and then take the advair.

My son takes both, he takes advair as a preventative, once in the morning, and once before bed. He takes albuterol as needed sometimes before going outside or at the onset of an attack. He was once on 6 different meds per day. Now that they have made advair for him, it is all he takes. I'm not a doctor but just from personal experience advair is the med for him. (it also has a time released steroid, which is what helps to keep his airways open, before he would be on an oral steroid, which was terrible!!) Good Luck and Take Care!

Advair is a preventative, meant to be taken everyday. Albuterol is to be used as needed. Ideally, if you're on a preventative like Advair, you won't need your albuterol as much.I have never taken Advair. I've been on Singulair for almost 3 years now. It's a pill you take once a day (instead of inhaling like Advair.) It really helps me alot. If I take it regularly, I don't have to use my inhaler very much at all (except during allergy season or if someone is smoking near me.)

Learn the Buteyko method. It takes time and effort. Only worth trying if you are committed and really want to be asthma free.
