how do i know i have meningitis??

i have a stiff neck, headache, and little runny nose. my cousin says i might have it. i'm really scared. i'm also 13

Only a doctor can diagnose meningitis. If you are not feeling well, and especially if you have a fever along with your symptoms, see a doctor immediately!

Go to an emergency room and get checked out as soon as possible. You may have meningitis but you may also have the flu or something else. You never know and you really can't know what you have unless a doctor examines you. People on Yahoo Answers can't really tell you either. You don't want to take any chances. Don't take aspirin, unless a doctor tells you to. When kids have certain viral conditions and take aspirin, it can cause a serious disease called Reye's Syndrome.Hope you feel better.

Only way to confirm if you have meningitis is to have a lumber puncture performed by a doctor. if you seriously think there is any chance of you have meningitis you should go to the emergency department of the nearest hospital. light sensitivity is also another symptom.
