My very large dog jumped up this morning and punched me right in the lower abdomen. I'm 18 weeks pregnant. It hurt at the time, but went away. I know I've read that you have to be hit pretty hard to do anything to hurt the baby, so I'm not too worried, but has anyone else ever been hit in the abdomen when pregnant, and what happened?I have my 18 week ultrasound scheduled for this week anyway, so that is one reason I'm not too worried.

When I was eight months pregnant, I tripped and fell on my stomach. Nothing bad happened to my baby.

if ur very concerned about the baby, then go to the doctor for the sonogram (or w/e that thing is called where you can see the baby on the screen) and they will see if ur okay.

OK, let me first tell you that every pregnancy is different and any time there is trauma to the abdomen you should get checked out by a proper physician...and not ask on the board. There is a big chance that it's nothing to worry about but there is a small chance of something going wrong. Is it really worth the risk of NOT getting checked?? If you found out that there were problems later, wouldn't you be pretty hard on yourself for not going to the doctor and asking for medical advise on Yahoo? Go in, get checked and know for sure...it's just a little bit of time out of your day to put your worries to rest.

Really, if it's not hurting anymore, you're probably fine, but if you're really worried, then call your doctor and ask if they can reschedule the ultra sound sooner.
