my parents and I have not had the same experiences. I have found that sometimes it is better to talk to them, but sometimes it may be better to go to a friend. My parents have always been very open with me about everything, but they were brought up with very strict rules, and didnt get to experience as much as I have already. They were married before they were 20 and they had me when my mom was 24. Neither of them went to college, so I found it difficult to talk to them about college experiences. I am happy that I have a little sister and that she sometimes comes to me since she knows that sometimes my parents don't understand. But if you feel that you would rather talk to you parents about stuff go for it, but personally I have found it easier to talk to my peers or another trusted adult!
