I'm 15 years old and with my workout i want to use a protein supplements like Muscle Milk to gain muscle mass. However, somebody I know used a protein supplement and had bleeding in his kidney because of it. Is this really possible and are protein suppplements safe for people my age or at all?

too much protein in your system will stress your kidneys. when you have more protein than you need, it gets urinated(peed) out. your pee is processed through your kidneys. so when you have too much protein, it goes to the kidneys and then they have to work harder than usual to process all that extraa stuff! you know what happens when you work too hard and dont get enough rest, right? well, that's what happens when your kidney works to hard, it gets sick and worn out. You could try seeing a nutritionist to analyze your diet and your exercise regime to see how much protein you actually need in a day. you might not even need the supplements if you can get the necessary protein through your diet. check it out with a professional before you start to avoid any health problems, especially since you are so young.
