Vet in Thailand not convincing me that he knows what he's doing? Hey there - I am pretty sad right now. My little cat (baby) Felix, has kidney disease. He's only 1, and simply refuses to eat. He was put on a drip at the vet, and is a bit more hydrated, but has now come home. I live in Thailand, and sometimes it's hard to find fantastic vets like the one I had in Canada. His voice is weak and raspy, and he is a walking skeleton - when he walks, that is; he hardly moves. He is on antibiotics and has a fever of 40 degrees. If he is suffering, I know I should have him put down. sniff, sniff : (. It's so hard to see him like this when I remember how lively he was only a month ago.Anyhow - as you can tell, I love him a lot. Have you had a cat with Kidney Disease? Has the cat been this weak and ill for over two weeks and gotten better? He is supposed to be on a low sodium diet, but still won't eat.Basically, we have to decide if we keep waiting, or have him put down. Thanks for any help and advice. He is just such a sweet heart.

Hi, r u sure that it's a kidney problem or disease? Did u try another Vet yet? The Symptoms are so much like a bad Cat Cold. Can u look and check inside the Cat's mouth if u can see any sores? If so, I would say the cat has a bad cold. Antibiotics helps and u have to feed the cat by hand the Vet give u something so u can feed the cat.It happen to my cat too and it took 2 weeks for my cat to get better. U can mix the food with warm water and put into the "plastic part of needle shot"without the needle on it! and place it to the side of your cats mouth and squeeze it into your cats mouth. Please just have your cat check one more time by another Vet to be sureEd: If it is an Persian yes it could be but the cat is so young and the fever don;t really fit in all this.I hope u understand all this and please react asap your cat is suffering.
