he could just have some kind of bladder infection, antibiotics would fix that in a hurry. they can tell with blood work if there's any concern about prostate cancer. my dads blood work made them test him further, with a biopsy but it checked out fine. try to convince him to go to the ER if he is too busy to see the family doctor, they can do blood work and take his urine and have results very fast. it may just be a swollen prostate which they have medication for and it may be nothing life threatening at all. he shouldn't say he thinks it's the worst and refuse care, that's not what being a parent is about, he shouldn't want you to worry about him, he should at least get the tests and decide how he wants to approach the situation from there, he's a big boy, he can take it. wish you all the best.
