how do you know if you have it? is there any home remedies to help instead of going to the docters? i know thats a wierd question but my sister seems pretty sick but she is really afraid of the doctors.

I used to have one..... OK Simptoms.... Fever every night, Back/lungs feels Kinda warm/wet sensation, and cough.But for best results go to the doctor!

It feels like an elaphant is on your chest, it's very hard to breathe and sometimes you can't talk. I remember that from childhood. A humidifier might work and make her breathe easier and break up the congestion. Good luck

No home remedies as this is a respiratory infection that needs antibiotics. It can turn into pneumonia if not treated. Your sister needs to see a doctor tomorrow. I have had it several times and 3 times it turned into pneumonia overnight.http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/000119.htm

You can try some simple home remedies to relieve some of the discomfort like using a humidifier to open up your airways or sitting a hot steamy bathroom but you will still need to see the doctor for medication or the condition can worse and you could possibly end up in the hospital. So take no chances with this.
