lately (for about 3 weeks), i've had a sort of burning sensation (acidic) in my throat. i don't know if it is heart burn or what. it's been getting bad enough that i skip meals sometimes so it doesn't come back. just today i got it again after i got home from school and it almost made me throw up. i'm only 16, and i'm not overweight. i didn't think it's normal to get heart burn so much like this.what is this exactly? what is this from? any home remedies? should i be worried?is there anything i can do NOW... before i go to a doctor? i doubt my parents will even take me to one... they just think i'm complaining!

you probably have acid reflux, and something you could buy is Prilosec OTC, which you can get over the counter. it should help clear things up :)

Heart burn can be extremely uncomfortable. Basically, the symptoms are caused by the "reflux" or bringing up of a small amount of acidic juices (or bile) from your stomach. Why does this happen? There are several answers to this and I recommend discussing your particular situation with your medical practitioner. I do NOT recommend you skip meals though. Some alternatives include drinking some milk prior to a meal (this will neutralise the acid), or staying away from spicy or fried foods, decreasing or avoiding alcohol, caffeine and lollies. Also avoid acidic fruits and vegetables such as tomatoes, oranges and lemons. Sometimes, a little stress can also increase these types of symptoms. Try to decrease any stress in your life right now and see how that goes too.I do know of a dietary supplement that may help - several people I know & more I have heard from have had their heartburn dissappear after taking this amazing supplement (including me). If you would like more information, please email me and I will give you more details.
