...with Meningitis, Will she be alright ? They told her she needed to immediatly get a spinal??? I hope some people can help answer my questions who actually knows about it not just send me links to read up on them, I am really worried!lil sister58 THANK YOU!I was just reading how children and infants have a higher risk of getting it.She has had contact with my children 5,2 and 7 weeks old. Who have runny noses and chapped lips. She has helped them with chapstick and blowing noses.. It says not to have any contact with the nose or mouth area. OMG!

I contracted meningitis when I was 8 years old...fortunately the doctors knew what is was a started treatment right away...I received a series of 5 spinal taps(to relieve the pressure of fluid going to the brain) over the course of 3 days...I was very sick for for awhile...but with antibiotics and the spinal taps I recovered fully within 2 weeks...If she is treated quickly she should be okay....your Doctor would know better than I would what her recovery will be like...but I will keep my fingers crossed and hope for the best for you and your Mom....
