AIDS isn't really a disease..HIV IS.AIDS is what it is called when the immune system has shut down for people with HIV and they contract a common usually non threatening disease like the flu or measles, with no immune system to fight the disease...it kills them.i am HIV+ and I had no systems till I went to my doctor for a blood test and found out.

a.i.d.s is caused by the h.i.v. (human immunodeficiecy virus) It is spred from person to person via blood, vaginal secretions, breast milk, and from mother to child during child birth. A person with hiv does not typicaly display any psyical symtoms. When an idividual progresses into AIDS symtoms can include weight loss, night sweats, tiredness, white spots on there tounge, Pupleish lesions on there skin. absteniance is the only sure way not to contract this disease.. HIV/AIDS works by destroying the immune system, (our body's natural defence system) when it is weakend by the disease , bacteria and viruses that we could normaly fight off, can cause great damage even death with people with advanced hiv disease Good luck with your school project
