Long term smoking can cause scarring of the lung that can initially resemble cancer. CT scans, a bronchoscopy and possible biopsy can rule cancer out.I hope that everything's easily resolved-a spot on a lung is nothing to scoff at, but maybe this will push him to stop smoking and live a healthier lifestyle.I'm so sorry, hon...I hope that the new doctor has the procedures that will enable his quick recovery. I will say a prayer for you and your family. God bless you all and I hope you have a beautiful Christmas.
