drink about a cup and a half of warm milk (goats milk works best) if you cannot have dairy, try eating a biscuit, plain arnots work best, if these dont work, see a docter for a mixture or a pill.

1) Raise the head of your bed (if possible) 6-8 inches up.2) Do not lie down for 3-4 hours after eating -- this is the time frame for the greatest reflux.3) Have a bland diet -- avoid garlic, onion, peppermint, fatty food, chocolate, coffee (including decaf), citrus juices, colas, and tomato products.4) Eat less -- eating much causes the lower esophageal sphincter, the muscle that inhibits the food in your stomach to move out, to relax.5) Don't wear tight fitting clothes.6) Control weight/ loss weigth.7) Stop smoking (if you do smoke).8) Reduce alcohol or do not drink alcohol at all. These are non-medical non-surgical managements of acid reflux.

ok. i have acid reflux. what works for me is, i take prevacid(any one of those like nexium, prilosec, etc. work) around 7 of the evening. i eat dinner at 5. i dont eat anything within 2 hrs of bedtime. usually around 9 i quit eating and go to bed at 11. if you dont have a script for prevacid, you can try some mylanta about 1 hr before bed, and try not to eat anything 2 hrs before bedtime. try it for about 2 wks. if that dont work, see your doc. acid will erode the lining of the stomach and esophagus. good luck.
