...genital warts? I know that there are many different strands of HPV, and the ones that cause the warts to appear are the low risk strands. I got the pap smear test done, but I have to wait a while for the results to come in, and im soooo anxious! Please let me know!!!

Yes. Cervical cancer and genital warts are connected.

HPV (genital warts) can lead to cervical cancer. Getting an annual pap can help detect abnormalities early on and help protect you against developing Cervical cancer. If you haven't checked into the new Gardasil vaccine, and you are under 26 years old, I would definitely recommend it. If you're under 18, you can get it for free at the Health Department (in my state you can, but you might call to be sure). it's a series of 3 shots and it protects you against 4 of the most common and dangerous strains of HPV. Get it and you won't have to worry as much next year when you go for your annual exam!
