help!!!!!? I have OCD and a phobia of HIV.I am 19 years old. I am a virgin. I am saving myself for marriage. My parents are completely healthy. I don't think (I hope that I haven't been exposed to HIV)I have taken 7 tests (one of which was today) in the last 14 months.I am worried now because whenever I got my blood taken to day, I put a band aid over it and I replaced the band aid through out the day after cleaning the spot that drew blood from and put new band aids on.I am not sure if I ripped the band aid off extremely too hard if there was some super sticky glue to hold my band aid on but it basically ripped my skin open and it HURTS and BURNS so badly to touch. So I put some Aquaphor on it and it has help with the burning alot!So now my question is...is this ok? Did I catch HIV from this? Was my band aid rigged to give me HIV?This is an open would of about an inch.I am worried...is this HIV?Is something wrong with me?So should I put a band aid over this????

Why are you so frightened of HIV? Sexual intercourse is not the only method in which HIV can be contracted. Please try and take a deep breath regarding your band-aid, you're fine. You know even "if" God forbid you should contract HIV, it is not what it used to be. Many people can live a semi-normal life for many many years. You should read up on it in case you haven't.I do hope that you are receiveing treatment for your OCD since that is not a way to live, always in fear.Take care...

You definitely have OCD. You don't have HIV. There is nothing "wrong" with you. You just need to keep yourself in check with your disorder. set some goals and limits for yourself so you don't get too worked up.1. Unless you become sexually active, take a chill pill on the HIV tests. (also if you are not sharing needles or anything so stupid which I'm sure you're not)2. How about just one band aid a day. Because that's all you need. Really. JUST one. if you take a shower . . . that's your excuse for another. So try to relax and remember, you are as strong as you are positive. Stay positive . . . stay strong . . . . live long.
